Despite being beaten by the Czech Republic in their opening match, the Ukraine are still a good side and they came through their eight qualifying games and two playoff matches with five wins and four draws. Their only loss came in the playoff game against the Netherlands, but progressed on away goals thanks to a 3-1 away win. They looked good against the Czechs, but they paid the price for conceding two goals at the beginning of the second half of the match.
